Amnesty International Portugal has launched The Freedom Dictionary project to to mark the anniversary of the Arab Spring, highlighting ongoing human rights violations in some of the countries affected.

The online dictionary project, developed by interactive agency Wiz and creative agency Torke, invites users to log in with Facebook, then choose a word to 'set free'. The chosen word will then bear the name of the person who released it; users can share their actions via social media. On World Press Freedom Day, (May 3), 11 copies of the dictionary will be printed and mailed to 11 countries where revolutions are taking place. The names of the people who released the words will also be featured on the printed version. Words that are not released will not be printed in the dictionary, being replaced by a blank space.
