Microsoft Is Recruiting (Female) Scientists for 2027 With This Film
Film Examines Why More Girls Don't Pursue Science
Editor's Pick
For International Women's Day, Microsoft released this video examining some of the reasons why more girls don't pursue science. In the film, by McCann's M:united agency, the girls are asked about their love for the subject and attitudes they come across, like science being only for boys, and about their perceptions of scientists (i.e., all male). Microsoft then gives each girl a letter, encouraging her to go on doing amazing things.
A caption at the end says Microsoft is recruiting for 2027. The documentary style, and female empowerment message, recall brands like Unilever's Dove and Procter & Gamble's Always; Microsoft clearly hopes this effort will be similarly shared to inspire other young girls.
