Google Assistant is Macaulay Culkin’s wingman in ‘Home Alone’ remake
Tech giant revisits and inserts itself into the classic holiday tale
Editor's Pick
Macaulay Culkin is getting on in years, but no worries because now he has Google Assistant by his side as he embarks on yet another holiday adventure.
A new ad from the tech giant revisits “Home Alone,” the Christmas classic that made him famous. Culkin reprises the role of Kevin McCallister and once again, his parents have left him to his devices at home. Though he’s now a fully-grown adult who’s free to do anything he wants anyway, he’s back in kid mode, binge-watching his favorite movies, jumping on the bed (not doing his bad back any favors) and ordering pizza.
This time, Google is there to assist--giving him easy access to practically everything via its various devices, from the Nest Hello doorbell to the Pixel 3. Google Assistant gives him a calendar reminder that he has a full day of having a house to himself, it takes note when he’s out of aftershave and turns down the heat a couple degrees. And when the bad guys enter the picture, it's all he needs to launch “Operation Kevin” and send them on their merry way.
