Adults Get Caught Dressing Up as Kids to Get a Halloween Candy Fix
Whatever Your Age, Trick or Treating is Stilll About Who Has the Most Sweets
Editor's Pick
Trick or treating is not just for kids. Or not in Quiet Storm's new spot for Haribo, anyway.
The 30-second film shows an adult couple, dressed as ghosts, kneeling on a neighbor's doorstep in an attempt to pass themselves off as children. In unconvincing squeaky voices, they call out, "Trick or treat?" When the man at the door offers them Haribo, they say, "Put them in my little bag, mister," before squealing, "More please."
Once they've got their sweets, they both stand up to their full height. The husband says in his normal voice, "Come on Babs, let's get out of here. We've got other houses to go to." (Before leaving, Babs whispers to the neighbor, "Tell Tracey I'll see her on Tuesday.") As the spot comes to an end, we hear the couple arguing over who's got the most sweets.
Haribo's U.K. Facebook page is given over to the #NeverTooOldtoTrickorTreat hashtag, including extra Halloween tips for adults like "When you're getting ready, don't forget the knee pads" and "Take two buckets. They'll feel sorry for you if one looks empty."
Directed by Max Sobol, the ad is part of Quiet Storm's "You're never too old for Haribo" campaign.
