You'll Weep Over McDonald's Touching Film in Praise of Parents
Filipino Ad Features Kids Covering the '70s Hit 'Handog'
Editor's Pick
McDonald's created a poignant ad for the Philippines in praise of parents and all they do for their kids, by reworking a famous Filipino song.
The soundtrack resurrects a local hit song "Handog (Offering)" by Filipino musician Florante in the '70s. The song was originally penned as a singer's tribute to his fans for their love and devotion, alongside the wish for them to be together longer. The McDonald's film has children singing the song to their parents, as we see a montage of touching moments between parents and kids.
Leo Burnett Manila created the film for the Christmas period, which is a time of homecoming and reunions for many Filipino people who work abroad. It has aleady had millions of hits on Facebook and YouTube, with many people commenting with their own tributes to their parents
