As parties resume, Heineken says don't mix up your beer bottles

Tom Kuntz directs light-hearted spot from Publicis that actually has a serious point

Heineken has been doing a good job of chronicling the different stages of the pandemic when it comes to consuming beer, from the perils of Zoom parties to the awkwardness of social distancing in bars, and trying to keep going during endless lockdowns. Now, there's another issue to grapple with as home parties gradually resume in some countries—making sure not to share your drinks (and thus, your germs).

The latest global spot from Publicis Italy takes a light-hearted look at people getting their beer bottles mixed up with each other at a house party. The spot depicts the confusion that arises since everyone's drinking identical green bottles of Heineken's brew. It then goes to to show what people will do to ensure they keep track of their own, such as labeling it, or using their scrunchie to customize.The fun ad, directed by MJZ's Tom Kuntz, has a serious point; "if you have drinks together, keep them apart."

In other words, we still need to "socialize responsibly," and be vigilant about hygiene as we come out of the pandemic. (It's a different approach to the one taken by Pepsi in its post-pandemic ad from VaynerMedia recently; where we saw several examples of people sharing drinks, heralding the world returning to normalcy.)
