Spot by Publicis shows women swapping cocktails for beer

Heineken's latest spot takes a playful look at gender stereotypes, pointing out that plenty of women prefer beer to other drinks. 

In the spot aimed at female consumers, by Publicis Italy, we see a series of women who are mistakenly served colorful cocktails, wine and more, by servers who just assume they didn't order the beer on the tray. In every case, it's a guy who's ordered the aperol spritz or glass of prosecco. And the final scene shows it can happen with food too, as a woman joyfully swaps her partner's salad for a burger.

"The idea for this campaign was inspired by real life experiences that everyone can relate to, " said Heineken's Brand Development and Communications Director Maud Meijboom, in a statement: “Breaking down these stereotypes involves acknowledging them and we wanted to do this in an entertaining way through our hero film."

The campaign will be launched in multiple countries in 2020.
