Squarespace has followed up its inspiring Grammys spot featuring Leon Bridges with a short film about the R&B singer's rise to fame.
Like the ad, the 22-minute film, "This Is Home," was directed by legendary music photographer Danny Clinch for agency Preacher. The film follows Bridges as he wraps his first year of non-stop touring and returns to his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. It also captures pivotal moments in his career -- among them, the day he received a call from the White House asking him to perform at Obama's final concert as President. Another scene sees Clinch playing harmonica live on stage with Bridges at the Magolia Motor Lounge, where the musician was first discovered by guitarist/producer, Austin Jenkins.
It's a soulful and reflective companion piece to the ad campaign. That showed Bridges scrolling through his Squarespace website, but here the branding is kept to the credits and the hosting. The film can be viewed at Squarespace.com, LeonBridges.com, DannyClinch.com and on Vimeo.
