Bryan Buckley Directs Ad Promoting Ridgeline Truck's Audio System

A flock of sheep sing along to Queen in Honda's Super Bowl commercial this year, in a spot promoting the automaker's Ridgeline trucks.

Highlighting the truck's factory truck-bed audio system, enabling music to play outside the truck, the spot sees the sheep appearing to launch into Freddie Mercury's distinctive vocals to "Somebody to Love" after being transported by a farmer in the Ridgeline. Even the sheep-dog joins in.

The ad, by RPA, was directed by Bryan Buckley of Hungry Man and we're told it was shot using real sheep and a trained sheep dog, VFX (by The Mill) "staying true to the anatomy and natural behavior of sheep." This included study of the movement of sheep's mouths to determine how their facial muscles might react while singing.

The spot will play during the third quarter of the Super Bowl, and is also on Honda's YouTube channel.
