Turkish Airlines Recreates Didier Drogba's Life Story in a Colorful, Hand-Painted Minute

Featuring soccer legends in its ads is a strategy that has worked phenomenally well for Turkish Airlines. Several of its ads, by Crispin Porter & Bogusky, have gone seriously viral including Kobe vs Messi which was voted the top YouTube Ad of the Decade at the Webby Awards.
The airline's previous spot featuring Didier Drogba has been viewed over 62 million times on YouTube, and now Drogba appears in another execution, which takes a lighthearted look at how he built his career and persona.
Colorful, hand-painted sets help recreate the locations that "made" Drogba, including his hometown of Abidjan in Ivory Coast, and cities such as Marseille, London and Paris where he honed his playing skills, sense of style and philanthropy. The sets were hand-painted by Hungry Man production designer Steve Summersgill.
Directed by Richard Bullock of Hungryman, altogether the spot does a good job of condensing Drogba's life into into an exuberant 60-second feast -- and judging by Drogba fans' previous reaction, it could be another viral hit.
