How winning an Andy could rescue you from a miserable existence in the sewers

If this year's call for entries film for the Andy Awards is to be believed, winning one could elevate your career from the gutter to working for the most happening agency in town. The film, created via Wieden & Kennedy, depicts a creative languishing in a dank sewer with his laptop, with a shelf full of awards from lesser organizations that haven't managed to change his career. The voiceover asks "How did you end up here" and compares him to "some kind of mole person" living in a "deep dark rut." He finds a manhole opening to the street, where he stares up at the bright window of an ad agency full of creatives having fun with VR headsets and brainstorming vivaciously in meetings. Of course, there are a bunch of Andys gleaming in the windows. (In case you didn't spot it—the cool agency is actually W&K, Portland.) The spot ends with the tagline "You're Only One Andy Away." It promotes the Andy's awards deadline of Jan. 29 (submissions can be entered here). The campaign comes as the Advertising Club of New York announces its 2020 jury for the Andys. This year's jurors include Publicis global chief creative officer Bruno Bertelli, Adam&Eve/DDB's chief creative oficer Richard Brim and Wieden & Kennedy's global chief creative officer Colleen DeCourcy.
