Chinese mobile brand Huawei has signed up two major Hollywood stars, Scarlett Johansson and Henry Cavill, to appear in a European campaign for its new P9 smartphone.
A teaser for the campaign, created by Havas London, was unveiled in the U.K. this week, at an event held by Huawei in partnership with camera brand Leica, whose technology is used in the phone.
The ad looks to be highlighting the quality photographic capabilities of the P9 and P9 Plus. The phones, which aimed at competing with both Samsung and Apple, feature two 12-megapixel cameras, one dedicated to color and the other to black and white shots. In the ad, Cavill represents monochrome and Johansson represents color.
Huawei is the world's third largest smartphone player; the company recently launched a corporate image campaign in China aimed at boosting its appeal as a consumer brand.
