What is it with teacher-student relationships at the moment? Could it all be inspired by France's President Macron and his wife Brigitte?

Last week we saw a hilarious take on the forbidden school teacher romance by Lifetime Movies. Now here's another ad, from optical retailer Instrumentarium in Finland, that wades into this potentially controversial area, albeit with slightly older protagonists.

The spot tells of a love story between a college student who sits in the front row in lectures and gazes mooningly at his older female teacher. She appears semi-oblivious, or perhaps bothered, until he dons a pair of stylish glasses, and then presents her with an identical pair--meaning she can see him clearly for the first time. (Clearly, her eyesight was the problem the whole time, and not that pesky ethical dilemma over teachers having dalliances with pupils!) This timeless love story promotes Instrumentarium's offer of two pair of glasses per price of one.

The ad was directed by Pete Riski through the Directors Guild Helsinki, for agency Works.
