Yolanda Be Cool : International Product Recall
Don't buy our track - it's no longer cool.
Editor's Pick
To create a stir around its new album, dance music duo Yoland Be Cool has launched a digital and social campaign in which it's issuing a "product recall" of its previous hit single. (The track, We No Speak Americano has featured in several movies including Madagascar 3, and was used by gymnast Gabby Douglas as a soundtrack to her Olympic routine).
The campaign, by Gotham, involves this YouTube video of a press conference announcing the "recall" of the track, due to its being overplayed. The Australian group is also removing the track from iTunes Australia, and officially taking the download links off its fan site and Facebook page. The video will be seeded via the band's various social media properties, as well as those of DJs, music industry influencers and brands including Red Bull. It directs users to YolandaRecall.com where they can learn more about the call to action and be redirected to the Yolanda Be Cool Facebook page. Once users "Like" the page, they can click the download tab for a free download of the new album, "Before Midnight".
