Olympic has a new line of paints that allegedly doesn't smell like paint. This is apparently a big selling point for paint-buying women, since Saatchi & Saatchi/New York has worked up a very feminine print campaign that's seen in mags like Oprah and Redbook. "We wanted to give Olympic paint a friendly, distinct personality in a very competitive and often a little too serious environment," says CCO Tony Granger. As for the cute touches of facial color, "We figured there would be skeptics, so the thought was to show people who obviously got too close to the paint while trying to smell it," adds copywriter Rob Lenois. The particular female angle required "beautiful models with a clean, modern, almost cosmetic look, which also further differentiates these ads from the typical paint ad," says art director Robert Perillo. Zachary Scott (see www.sharpeonline.com
) was tapped for the photography because "he's able to capture both portraits and still lifes in a very clean, graphic and contemporary manner, in which one nicely complements the other," says Perillo.
