Zappos has created a charming new series of ads that recreate true customer stories to demonstrate the lengths the retailer will go to for its customers.
The ads were created by agency Praytell, which works with Zappos on PR and social strategy and selected three real-life stories that had happened to actual customers. For example, the spot seen here depicts a hilarious story about a newly-married couple who were moving house. In the chaos of packing, the husband packed all his wife's jewelry inside one of her purses and then placed it into what he thought was a spare Zappos box. The wife then returned the box to Zappos, thinking it was another item. It ended with a member of Zappos team returning the jewelry by hand, having taken a plane -- and the couple really did invite him to dinner.
There's also a spot about a little who wanted to wear sneakers for a ballet recital, and another about a guy whose Zappos yoga pants made him the envy of his class.
According to the agency, while there was some creative license taken in order to condense them into 15 or 30 second spots, the stories were kept pretty true to life. Zappos marketer Meredith Katz tells Creativity: "It was such a fun process reading through so many ridiculous, heart-warming, and comical stories. It was hard to choose just three, but we're really proud of how those we selected turned out."
