Kale chips with your tampons?
Feminine products subscription service Tampon Tribe adds the snack to its line of offerings to promote its own sustainability efforts
Editor's Pick
In the world of feminine products, a number of eco-friendly options have cropped up in recent years. So what can a brand do to distinguish itself beyond packaging and the typical messages? Try snacks.
Monthly subscription service Tampon Tribe offers women organic cotton tampons that are free of toxins and plastics and are completely compostable. And now, they can also come with kale chips.
LAB13, the innovation consultancy of MRM came up with the idea to create sister brand Monthly Harvest Kale Chips, which Tampon Tribe customers can order alongside their feminine products.
The chips are produced with the same natural processes and philosophy by which the tampons are. Moreover, kale is known for its nutritional value. Full of iron and calcium, it’s touted to help relieve menstrual cramps. Also following Tampon Tribe’s zero-waste mandate, the packaging of the chips from production will be recycled and used for compost for subsequent kale harvests.
LAB13 came up with idea in response to a brief asking to communicate the sustainability of Tampon Tribe’s products while increasing customers’ basket size.
Tampon Tribe is promoting the chips in a new film, seen above.
