Celebrities compete to recreate KFC menu items at home in lockdown showdowns
'KFC Clash' livestreaming in the U.K. also serves as reminder of the Colonel's recipes

KFC's U.K. outlets have been closed since late March, although the company is now starting to open up a few restaurants for delivery only. And, like other fast food chains, the marketer is having to come up with ways to remind fans about its food while it's gone. While some have published instructions for recreating burgers or meatballs at home, KFC's approach is slightly different: it's challenging celebrities to recreate the taste of its menu items at home.
Created by agency Mother London in conjunction with PR agency Freuds, KFC Clash is a weekly series, livestreamed on the brand's U.K. Instagram feed, in which celebrities go head-to-head cooking fried chicken and more. The first pair, reality show "Love Island" stars Chris and Kem, faced off last Tuesday to recreate a chicken wrap, and today will see a face-off between another pair, former soccer players Jimmy Bullard and Paul Merson. Viewers vote for their favorite, and for each "battle," KFC will make a donation to charity Comic Relief.
