Asics and Vitro were at it again to mark the 30th anniversary of the Los Angeles marathon last weekend. Known for pulling off some pretty spectacular running-themed stunts, like last fall's 3D printed runners for the N.Y. marathon as well as the Ryan Hall treadmill challenge, theybrought Hollywood flair to the big L.A. race by lining the entire 26.2 mile course with 124 high-powered spotlights, totalling over 7.5 lumens, the equivalent of more than 29,000 light bulbs.
The lights were switched on last Friday night before the marathon, turning the city's skyline into a dazzling show and illustrating just how long a marathon really is.
People were encouraged to post their photos on social media with the hashtag #lightsonLA.
