Sports fans at the Olympics in Rio this month can get their own medals just by drinking beer, thanks to Skol, the official beer for Rio 2016. Skol is creating its own Olympic Medals Pack by wrapping beer cans in the metallic gold, silver or bronze colors of winning athletes. Featuring images inspired by the real thing, the cans could almost make brew drinkers look like they're wearing hardware around their necks if they hold them just so, in front of their chests.
About one million metal cans will be produced and sold in the four Skol-sponsored areas scattered around the Olympic venues: the Skol Villa, the Skol Arena, Skol Live House and Skol FanZone. Anyone not attending the games can order online a three-pack with one medal can in each color and a branded case. Brazil's best-selling beer brand, owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev affiliate AmBev, works with Sao Paulo agency F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi.
