An emotive new spot by French home improvement retailer Leroy Merlin uses some incredible VFX to illustrate how building your home is a metaphor for building your life together.

In the ad, created by BETC Paris and directed by Nicolai Fuglsig via MJZ/Henry, a young family stumbles on a dilapidated shack and take shelter there. They begin to make the run-down structure into a home, with the building transforming into a kind of magical treehouse as the family grows. Over time, new roots branch out to make extensions and new spaces for their kids. The set designs were created by Christopher Glass ("The Jungle Book," Apple AirPods).

A previous spot by the brand turned a house into a ship that sets sail on the ocean
