A Child Writes to Santa in This Weepie Vodafone Ireland Spot -- So What Did She Ask for?

Clue: It's Not a Phone

Vodafone Ireland's holiday spot might well bring a tear to your eye -- and it's nothing to do with a phone.

It shows a little girl writing a letter to Santa and getting ready for Christmas. We don't see what she's asked Santa for, but on Christmas morning she looks disappointed, as everyone around her is excitedly opening presents -- there's clearly something on her mind. Finally (just after her mother receives a text), a car pulls up and the surprise is revealed -- keep watching for the prettty emotive ending. But it's enough to say the ad is all about people being together in person -- not at the end of a phone -- which is a fairly brave message for a mobile firm.

The spot was created by Grey London and directed by Thirty Two at Pulse Films
