Author Brett Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Less than Zero) returns to deconstruct the goings-on in Placebo's latest video "Loud Like Love," directed by Saman Kesh and produced out of 890 Productions in association with Skunk. As in the band's previous outing for "Too Many Friends," in this episode of "Unfortunate Details" viewers are presented with a curious scene that is not as it appears. This time, it's an afternoon suburban poolside scene in the '60s involving a bikini-clad babe given to projectile vomiting, and the unexpecting target of her spew, who's accidentally thrown into the water. As Mr. Ellis points out, however, the face value of the events at hand are quite deceiving, and the audience must use its powers of observation to discover what really happened.

"The band and I always had the notion of a tryptic trilogy that dealt with social interactions across three times," said Mr. Kesh in a statement. "'Too Many Friends' was about the isolationist future we could possibly live in. In 'Loud Like Love,' we show a time that was almost the exact opposite. In the late '60s, it was a time of sexual revolution and almost 'too much' interaction."

Mr. Kesh shot the clip in Granada Hills, California with the Phantom Flx camera, which helped transform the intense five-second event into the lush, slow-motion scenes.
