Parents of teens get a horrifying taste of what their kids go through with a free iPhone app created by Liz Claiborne Inc.'s Love Is Not Abuse Coalition.

Aimed at providing parents with the information they need to learn more about teen dating abuse in the digital age, the app helps parents to recognize abusive behavior by simulating the behaviour that many teens endure in their dating relationships. Users receive text messages, emails and phone calls from a 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend' that mimic the actual communications of real teens. Videos on such topics as privacy invasion, deleting a partner's friends on social networks and unauthorized access to a boyfriend or girlfriend's social networks teach parents about the destructive behaviors in digitally abusive relationships. The app was created after consultations with top experts in the fields of dating abuse, adolescent development, and parenting.
