Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman Do Friendsgiving With Google Home
NBC Spot Promotes Both Google Home products and New Series 'Making It'
Editor's Pick
While Amy Poehler scrambles to roast beets, wash dishes and prepare the gravy before a Friendsgiving celebration in a new NBC spot, Nick Offerman's priorities lie elsewhere: In perfecting his "pinecone critter."
The new campaign set to kick off Thursday during the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade broadcast and on social platforms leading up to the parade is meant to promote both Google Home products and "Making It," an upcoming arts-and-crafts competition series Poehler and Offerman will co-host on the network.
The Thanksgiving-themed spot was one of five that debuted during the parade broadcast, created by NBC's Creative Partnerships team.
The duo calls on the Google Home in one spot to check on their agendas (Poehler's is hectic with dinner preparations; Offerman's consists only of making his pinecone creation).
The campaign will also include an "anthem" spot that will feature NBC properties including "Chicago Fire", "Will & Grace," "Great News," NBC Sports and "The Voice." Google Home plays a role in that spot, as will Jennifer Hudson singing "O Christmas Tree." The anthem ad is set to break on Nov. 28.
