Here's another magical transformation from Forsman & Bodenfors for If Insurance. The first spot in the series dealt with a toy shop fire; here, it's a domestic robbery that is cleaned up before the eyes of the traumatized homeowners. There's no accompanying behind the scenes movie this time, so it's up to you to work out how it was done.
Update: For the first episode, an elaborate, moveable set helped create the magic, but on the most recent effort, Forsman and Bodenfors art director Samuel Akesson explains the spot actually required a different technique. For the campaign, which will also include a third spot, "the task was to make this magical transformation happen seamlessly, in one shot and in real time," he says. "We ended up using a few different techniques and with this one, 'The House,' this is how we did it, simply put: The spot is 3 takes, or sequences. The first one is when the couple enters their burgled house. This is shot hand held. Around where the man sits down we've made a hidden, perfectly matched cut."
"Here we change over to Motion Control. The man then stands up, sees the band on the TV and turns around to find the house in order.Since this sequence was made with Motion Control we were able to (with fantastic work by Redrum Post Production in Stockholm!) stitch it together with a third sequence, in which we had cleaned up the house. Simple as that. Sort of."
