McDonald's China gets political (-ish) with the Black and White burgers. But lest you think this is just a case of Mickey D's getting a bit wacky with its hamburgers, The Beijinger wants to correct you.

"...they're a play on a Chinese phrase: heibai liangdao tongchi... which describes people who are so well-connected with both the government (that's the white side) and organized crime ("black society," as it's called in Chinese) that they can "eat from both sides." In other words, someone who has a foot in both camps."

Basically, these burgers represent the worst of our society.

But for those who are not so concerned with McDonald's political commentary: the black burger has white sesame seeds, with a black pepper sauce, while the white burger has black seeds, and a sweet and spicy sauce.
