What Is Mr. Bean Doing in This Martial Arts Movie?
Snickers' Latest Ad Is All in Mandarin

Snickers' "You're Not You When You're Hungry" campaign has been running for awhile now, but the brand and agency BBDO have a way of keeping things fresh, using different celebrities to convey the idea that you turn into someone completely different when you're Snickers-deprived. This latest U.K. installment, from Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, features comedy legend Mr. Bean (aka Rowan Atkinson, starring in his first ad since the 1990s). The rubber-faced icon inexplicably pops up as one of a team of crack Kung Fu fighters. Part of the fun: the contrast between his inept goofing and the serious whisperings of his companions (the dialog is all in Mandarin with English subtitles), together with the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"-style action. Daniel Kleinman of Rattling Stick directed the spot, which broke this weekend during Britain's "The X-Factor."
