W+K, London's new "Music Almighty" site for Nokia, developed in conjunction with Firstborn, turns visitors into a headphone-sporting, lip-syncing star.
The site lets visitors first choose from five distinct musical characters: an Electro Blipper, Table Turnin' Hopper, Animal Rocker, Pink Popper and Philarmaniac. Each one is represented on the homepage by a dangling, colored headphone cord. By clicking, dragging and plugging in any of the cords into various Nokia phones, you trigger a tune designated for each character such as Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" for Rocker or Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" for Hopper.
With track in hand and a pair of customized headphones to wear, you can then upload a headshot or pick from a handful of default ones to create your own character. Slide bars on the right let you alter the image by age, personality, emotion and look. After your avatar is set, press play and watch him or her lip sync to the notable tunes or record your own freestyle to preset background music. You can record by either dialing the number provided to speak your message or type it on your keyboard and have it immediately translated by programmed male/female voices.
Once you're happy with the freestyle video, save and download it to your desktop, use the embed code to plant it on your blog, upload to YouTube or post it on your Facebook profile and share with friends.
