Moet & Chandon's cinematic ad reminds you it's there for life's 'big bang' moments
Film by Ogily Paris positions the champagne brand as the way to celebrate defining events
Editor's Pick
In an era of ubiquitous prosecco, French champagne house Moet & Chandon is reminding people that only its prestigious brand will do for the big moments in life.
A new campaign by Ogilvy Paris centers on those "big bang" moments, with a cinematic one-minute spot in which we see some epic firsts: a young ballerina takes to the stage in Paris, a man races across Manhattan to get to the birth of his baby, an astronaut prepares to blast off on a mission to Mars and a group of millennials arrive at an amazing desert funfair. All this is interspersed with footage of astronomical "big bangs," which eventually conclude with the explosive fizz returning to a bottle of Moet & Chandon. Manu Cossu directs, via Iconoclast.
The film seen here is one of several different versions making up the global campaign which will run across digital, cinema and social media. It launched this weekend to coincide with "Moët & Chandon Grand Day," the champagne house's annual day of celebratory events around the world.
