Academy Films' director Nabil was behind the camera on this quietly powerful, yet gruesome music video for Antony and the Johnsons' "Cut the World." The film starts out as a subtle vignette about office life, lingering on the contemplative moments of a secretary, played by Carice van Houten, and her boss, played by Willem Defoe --yet eventually, things take a cataclysmic, gory turn. The video's track was originally written for the opera "The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic," director Robert Wilson's take on the performance artist's life and work. Abramovic also makes a cameo in the video.
The video was one of the 19 winners in Saatchi's 23rd Annual New Directors Showcase at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Read about the rest of the films here and check out more coverage from the festival at Creativity's Cannes Central.
