The NBA’s “Jingle Hoops” holiday spot from 2013, created by Goodby Silverstein & Partners, has become something of a cult classic. Now, the league is returning to the theme with a spot from Translation that features the players as action figures.

The spot, set to the holiday classic “Jingle Bells,” opens with five players practicing three-pointers: Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Luka Dončić (Dallas Mavericks) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics). (Curry, Durant and James were all in the original spot 11 years ago.)

Soon the five are interrupted by Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers) and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs), who swoop in to play a new melody.

Malika Andrews of ESPN and Mike Breen of ABC also appear, as a toy figurine and bobblehead respectively, to provide commentary on the chaos.

“Jingle Hoops Regifted” was created by Translation and directed by Dave Scanlon, with live-action and animation by Passion Pictures. Along with the :30, there will be four 10-second spots along with out-of-home, digital, social and audio ads.

The spot will premiere in broadcast on Tuesday during the Emirates NBA Cup east quarterfinal matchup between the Orlando Magic and the Milwaukee Bucks on TNT.
