It's hard to believe it's a whole year since Pokemon Go came on the scene.
It may make fewer headlines these days, but now Niantic, creator of the augmented reality game that took the world by storm last summer, is reminding us of its anniversary with an outdoor campaign in some of the global cities that caught the most Pokemon.
The posters, running in London, New York and Tokyo, celebrate the enthusiasm of those cities for the game with lines like "World Leaders in Financial Services, the Arts and Poke Ball throwing" for London and for New York, a digital poster that includes real-time stats on how many Pokemon are being caught nearby. Some of the billboards have also been activated as "PokéStops" in the game, where people can catch Pokemon.
Wieden & Kennedy London was responsible for the creative, and W&K Portland handled global media planning and buying.
