Nike Japan and Wieden & Kennedy Tokyo put the spotlight on Baseball with "The Pledge," a new commercial featuring baseball icon Hideo Nomo and meajor league player Koji Uehara. Traditionally, Japanese culture focuses on putting the team first -- but the commercial disrupts those traditions and has the young baseball player stepping up to emphasize his own success at the sport. According to Nike Japan's VP marketing Paolo Tubito in a statement, the company wants to "inspire and elevate athletes by giving them an opportunity to make their voices heard to their team, friends, family and the world."
