Photoshop-Free Verily Magazine Is All About the Authentic Woman

Crows feets, cellulite, freckles -- they're all welcome in the pages of recently launched Photoshop-free magazine Verily. Inspired by studies that include Dove's 2004 "the Real Truth About Beauty" and UPenn/Wharton researchers' "The Pardox of Declining Female Happines," the female founders of the magazine are out to create a magazine that's "less about who you should be, and more of who you are." Outside of banning Photoshop, the magazine sets out to address issues of real import women and broaden the discourse to accommodate a more authentic, diverse picture of what it means to be a woman today.

The monthly magazine targets women aged 18 to 35 years old and launched its first official edition in June/July 2013. Readers will find style and culture features, as well as relationship and lifestyle tips. Subscriptions are available online as well as the option to order back issues or pre-order the upcoming November/December issue.
