The U.K.'s Now TV Does, Just in Time for the New Season of 'The Walking Dead'

Now TV, Sky's internet-TV service, is trying to freak out gas station customers across the U.K. with a stunt for "The Walking Dead" that fakes footage of swarming zombies on what looks like the stations' own security monitors.

To promote the new season of the zombie drama starting October 13 on Fox via Now TV in the U.K. (one day later than in the U.S. on AMC), the internet-TV service used Amscreen media placements at the counters of gas stations around the country. The screen shows what looks like CCTV footage, making customers think they're watching what's going on by the gas pumps. Gradually, the place is overrun with wandering zombies chasing customers away from their cars. Then the video directs viewers to Now TV to watch the show.

Sky's agency WCRS was responsible for the stunt, which will run in 450 gas stations.
