Chocolate-Deprived Swedish Couple Gets a Wonderful Surprise, Courtesy of Marabou
The Nearest Convenience Store is Hours Away, But Mondelez Brand Changed All That
Mar 21, 2014
Mondelez chocolate brand Marabou has decided to spread some good vibes to Swedes via the heart-warming "Spread some Mmmm. . ." campaign via Forsman and Bodenfors. The concept behind the effort is "generosity," via the vehicle of Marabou chocolate. To drive the idea, the agency sought out stories of real people whose lives could be made just a little sweeter, like the couple featured in this film, the Mannelas, who live in the most remote part of northern Sweden. In fact, it's so far out that they have very little access to a town dweller's typical conveniences, like a grocery store. The couple, who the agency discovered through an article in Swedish mag "Land," are in such a remote part of town that when they craved something sweet, they settled for eating something ilke syrup, since the nearest shop was a harsh, wintry, 60+ miles away. To make life just a little sweeter for the pair, the brand decided to make the path to chocolate just a little shorter.
On an accompanying website, ärMannelaiboden.nu (no longer live) the brand invited Swedes to check in on the Mannelas in the chocolate shop. If they were in, the site changed and visitors got the opportunity to get chocolate for themselves and a friend.
