Oreo makes aliens an 'offering' after UFO report

The cookie brand follows its 'Oreo vault' with another space-themed stunt

With the Pentagon's somewhat ambiguous UFO report making headlines this weekend, it was perfect timing for Oreo to pull off another space-themed stunt. Last October the cookie brand built its Oreo vault, to preserve its recipe and a sample in case an asteroid ever hits Earth. Now, it's made sure the aliens who are potentially out there know what an Oreo is too.

Earlier this month, the brand released a teaser video, Oreo Offering, in which it created a crop circle with one of the best crop circle artists in the country, and promised to give a "peace offering" to any aliens potentially out there. At the same time it asked people to vote on Twitter to vote on what kind of Oreo, milk and eating environment to give the aliens.

More than 7,000 voted, with the result being to offer them Double Stuf and whole milk, to be eaten in a bedroom; all were revealed in a series of social videos. Oreo also made limited edition packs for people to make their own offerings. 

The final video, seen here, was released this weekend and gives viewers a recap of the whole stunt, which was orchestrated by The Community, together with Media.Monks, 360i and VaynerMedia.
