ESPN's latest ads serve as a reminder that, while modern media technology can be amazing, nothing beats live sports on TV.
One new spot features a guy who's artfully photographing his sandwich for social media. Until he realizes that every single other person out there is sharing their food pics -- unlike Scott Van Pelt's real-time sharing on ESPN's [email protected], which is live.
Another ad sees a woman flicking through the movie queue on her TV and musing on what the algorithm has recommended her. However, it doesn't know her team is about to play an important game; so, the movies can wait.
Both spots were directed by David Shafei at World War Seven, for agency 72andSunny New York.
