Ad Aims to Show That the Site Can Be Used for Seasonal Trends

A style-inspired chain reaction occurs when women copy each other's styles by finding similar outfits and accessories on eBay, in a new fashion-focused spot from the auction site.
Created by Pereira & O'Dell, and directed by Crystal Moselle at Somesuch (who was chosen via the Free the Bid process of picking female directors), the story moves from one woman who spots someone wearing a floral print dress and then finds one of her own on eBay, and then onto yet another fashionista who eyes that lady's silver shoes, and so on. The sassy soundtrack is "Ooh La La" by former Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto, from her debut solo album "Fake Sugar," set to launch on June 19.
The campaign, airing across network and cable TV, as well as digital pre-roll, aims to reinforce that eBay is a place to shop for seasonal trends and not just for old pre-owned and vintage items.
