This Uplifting Amazon Kindle Ad Totally Nails the 'Joy of Reading'
Spot Filmed in Sri Lanka Tells the Story of a Journey to a Remote Island
Nov 14, 2014
Childen experience the magic of storytelling in this lushly- filmed online ad for the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite from Orchard Bangalore, an Indian agency owned by Publicis Groupe's Leo Burnett. Filmed in Sri Lanka, it's the story of a man who journeys from a city to a remote island, where he reads from a book to a group of enthralled kids on the beach (the children, cast from a local village, are great actors).
But there's a modern touch: The book is Amazon's signature e-reader. Director Ram Madhvani shot the spot through his Mumbai production company Equinox Films (Madhvani is represented by Great Guns).
