World of Tanks Reveals Driving a Tank in Real Life Doesn't Work So Well
Funny Spots by French Agency Romance Are Running in Europe
Editor's Pick
It's good to own a tank in the video game "World of Tanks" -- but pretty much nowhere else.
That's the message from a new campaign for the game by parent company Wargaming, via French agency Romance, which consists of two funny spots showing how driving a tank in the real world would not be so much fun.
The ads imagine tank owners trying to negotiate entering a parking lot (as seen here) as well as filling up at a gas station--both of which scenarios are impractical in such a vehicle. The scene then cuts to images from the game, where tank-driving is an exciting and totally manageable thing.
The campaign went live earlier this week in the U.K. and is also being broadcast in France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Turkey.
