This week, PetSmart and agency Deutsch LA took the holiday sweater trend to the next level. But rather than crafting garments to win ugly sweater competitions, the pet supply brand is embroidering knitwear with the most beautiful design: yours and your pet’s faces.

Pawliday Sweater

The “Anything for Pets” Pawliday Sweater is a limited-supply drop of free, coordinating pet-and-me sweaters in a range of sizes. The lucky cat or dog owners who snag a set simply upload two photos—one of themselves and one of their furry friend—and PetSmart will custom embroider each head on the garments.

The human variation is a bright red cardigan with the pet’s likeness embroidered on the left side, over the tagline “anything for pets.” The animal version features the owner’s visage on the back with the same tagline and the PetSmart logo.

“We want to bring pet parents and their pets closer together—and you can’t get much closer than donning one another’s picture on your sweaters,” said Will Smith, senior VP and chief marketing officer at PetSmart, in a statement. “Our company and associates will truly do anything for pets, and we know pet parents feel the same. Dropping these custom, one-of-a-kind sweater sets is just one way that we’re able to support our pet-obsessed community and brand purpose.”

The sweater giveaway opens on Dec. 2 at 9 a.m. PT on the campaign’s website. Check out Ad Age’s experience with Petsmart’s Pawliday garments:
