Google Play Goes Straight for the Heart in Big Anthemic Ad out of BBH L.A.
Moving Verse Couple with Pop Culture Moments to Announce New iOS Offering
Editor's Pick
Google Play goes straight for the heart in this big, anthemic spot created out of BBH L.A. A voiceover recites a paean to the body's central organ, dissecting it past biology, to the emotion that keeps it pulsing and causes it to skip a beat. All the while, iconic and quirky scenes pulled from pop culture--and from Google Play's stable of content offering--illustrate the uplifting verse. Directed by Johnny Green via Reset Content, the spot represents a bold step up from Google's more low-key, heartstring-tugging marketing. The spot comes alongside Google Play's recent announcement of the arrival of movies and television to iOS.
"With Google Play we want to bring people more and better ways to experience the digital entertainment they love," said Brian Irving, Director of Marketing for Google Play. "This campaign is based on the idea that entertainment has an emotional impact on each of us and connects with us. When we watch a movie or read a book, we feel something. This spot touches people through the entertainment they love."
