Google India and Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai prop up the search giant's national election push with "Pledge to Vote," a beautiful spot featuring Shyam Saran Negi, a 97-year-old retired schoolteacher who happens to be India's first ever voter.

When India's first general elections were held in 1952, an exception was made for Mr. Negi's hometown of Kinnaur in Himachal Prasesh, where, due to the anticipation of heavy snowfall, elections were held in October 1951 -- when Mr. Negi cast his first vote. Since then, he has voted in every single election.

The spot works alongside Google's comprehensive Election hub, where you can pledge to vote (and hover over a map to see what others across the country are pledging.) You can also check out search trends to see which political figures have the highest votes, and join a hangouts series with ministers, activists, and more.
