In Korea, a Giant Post-It Marriage Proposal Is Actually an Ad for 3M
Innored Created Viral Ad to Accompany 'Connecting the Heart' Slogan
Editor's Pick
The Korean man in this video isn't the first person to propose to his girlfriend using Post-It notes -- a quick Google search reveals plenty of people got there before him. Digital agency Innored, Seoul and 3M banked on this suprisingly hearttwarming use of the brand's product -- and what now must be a socially acceptable way to ask someone to tie the knot -- by creating this moving film tying in a new slogan, "Connecting the heart."
In it, the man takes his girlfriend to a high-rise cafe in Gangnam, Seoul, where he asks her to look at the skyscraper across the way. There, she sees 300 people place Post-It notes against the building's windows, ultimately displaying his request for her hand. Viewers just might join her in shedding a tear. Only a week after going live, the ad has already had over three million views on Facebook and YouTube, with 2,500 sharing it on Facebook on just one day.
