In an effort to boost the fashion industry, Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, along with New York City's ad agency NYC & Co, will be hosting "Fashion's Night Out" tonight. More than 800 stores around the city will be open until the wee hours. The goods will be on sale, of course, but shoppers will also be treated to special appearances by designers, celebrities, music performances, and food and drink.

The idea was conceived by Vogue Editor-in-Chief (and star of The September Issue) Anna Wintour, who worked with CFDA President Diane Von Furstenberg and NYC & Co to organize the event.

FNO will also include the sale of a charity t-shirt and a clothing drive to benefit the September 11 Memorial and Museum and the NYC AIDS Fund.
