Lexus appealed to both car and toy car aficionados in one of the brand's two spots for the Super Bowl, showing a remote-controlled toy Lexus that performs trick driving. The ad, by Team One, features the remote-control car performing drift stunts, after which it is joined by a full-size RC 350. The stunts were coordinated by remote-control expert Drift44, and the spot ends by inviting viewers to see more amazing remote-control videos from Drift44 online. According to the agency, booking the Super Bowl slot was "inspired by its social community's overwhelming response to online videos posted last week."
The other Lexus spot, done by Walton Isaacson and called "Make Some Noise," was a more traditional car ad, with cars zooming dangerously around an underground parking lot together with some edgy-looking dancers.
