This Soap Will Remind You to Do a Breast Self-Exam in Your Shower

Warriors in Pink, sponsored by Ford Motor Co. to drive awareness and fund raising to fight breast cancer, is encouraging women to do self-exams in the shower and offering a handy reminder.

In an effort developed by independent U.S. Hispanic shop Zubi Advertising, Leyna Masters, a pharmacist and soap artisan, was commissioned to create "Remind Me Soap," a bar soap designed with small bumps. As you use the soap, the bumps are exposed and feel like the strange lumps a woman might detect while doing a breast self-exam in the shower. Remind Me Soap is available from Etsy.com while supplies last (the bars are nearly free -- just 20 cents each -- but there's a $5 shipping charge) and will be given away as part of experiential programs Zubi is doing at races and elsewhere.

Zubi is hoping the initiative, which includes the video and a remindmesoap.com site, will create enough buzz that Ford will decide to commission more bars beyond the initial order for 3,000 so the soap can be sold at retail, with proceeds going to the Komen Foundation.
