VW teams up with Interscope for a musical intro to the new Jetta

Louis the Child, Kali Uchis and others contribute the soundtrack for a dozen new spots

The Volkswagen Jetta may be nearly 40 years old, but it's still a brand associated with youth, speed and modernity. And what do young, fun drivers want? Music and tech, the car company is betting.

On Sunday, during this year's Billboard Music Awards, VW is launching the new 2019 Jetta campaign, featuring 12 TV spots from Deutsch, each with their own track from an artist on Interscope Records. "Bygones" by EM duo Oliver backs a turntable-inspired spot emphasizing the model's new lines and curves and Gryffin's jaunty "Winnebago" helps pitch the warranty. YUNGBLUD's "King Charles" touts the BeatsAudio speaker system and "Tin Pan Boy" highlights the torque.

More spots featuring artists like Louis the Child and Kali Uchis will roll out through the summer, including during the NHL Playoffs and Stanley Cup Finals.
